pause, breathe, listen

I'm rooting for you and wishing you all the goodness that life has to offer.

I encourage you to take care of yourself in the most genuine and sincere ways possible, and I am sending you love because it's always required.

You need to find practices that resonate deeply with your spirit, allowing you to connect with your inner wisdom, your spirit, and your guides. I see and feel the weight in people as they pass by, and often when I touch someone.

There is a profound disconnection with their bodies, and to a greater extent, with the whole of themselves. It is like a discordant chord is ringing through their bodies with little to no resolution, so it reverberates beyond the body and into the world. And it's not isolated; many of us are experiencing this as well. So there's no shame. However, let's document this, give ourselves grace, and then look for practices that bring us closer to ourselves.

One sure way to do this is to stop wherever you are and take a moment to look around, providing your nervous system with information about your location. This step will allow you to feel a sense of safety. Then, either sit or stand, and plant your feet firmly on the ground. You can take off your shoes first. If you feel inclined, close your eyes and then take three deep, intentional breaths, where your exhalation is longer than your inhalation. You can inhale for a count of four and exhale for a count of six. As you do, start to listen without judgment to how your body is responding to the moment.

What are you feeling in your guts, your heart, or extremities? What about your head? Are your thoughts melting away or rushing in? Are you settling or becoming agitated? Use this time to check in and record the sensations you're experiencing, again, without any self-criticism.

You're just becoming more aware of yourself and how you feel in this instant. If you'd like, jot down those responses so you can reflect when you do this next time. The more you practice this, the more you'll become aware of how you're moving through the world and gradually begin to adjust, coming into alignment with yourself.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'd love to support your journey in any way I can. We must cultivate rituals that bring us closer to ourselves and to each other.
